This book sends you to another place and time: an adventure in a time of crisis in medieval England. With the good King Henry dead and the rightful ruler Richard fighting in the Crusades, the evil Prince John seizes the throne. Only interested in making himself richer and having no consideration for the poor and middle class, he becomes a tyrant. Young Robin of Locksley has his lands taken from him by force after his father dies. Robin, cast out with no home, joins an outlaw gang dedicated to helping the poor. How Robin and his band of merry men (Maid Marian, Friar Tuck, Little John, Will Scarlet, etc.) outwit the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham, rob the rich and give the wealth to the poor makes this book the magical story it is. Dressed as a beggar Robin also wins the golden arrow at the shooting match held only to catch him. The evil sheriff stops at nothing to rid the forest of Robin Hood, but unsuccessfully, while more and more men are joining Robin. At King Richard's return Robin is rewarded.
