From director Clint Eastwood comes the untold story of the Japanese soldiers, who defended their homeland against invading American forces during World War II. With little defense other, than sheer will and the volcanic rock of Iwojima itself, the unprecedented tactics of General Tadamichi Kuribayashi (Ken Watanabe) and his men transform what was predicted to be a swift defeat into nearly 40 days of heroic and resourceful combat. It reveals the battle of Iwo Jima from the tunnel- and cave-dwelling perspective of the Japanese, hopelessly outnumbered, deprived of reinforcements and doomed to die. Letters from Iwojima steadfastly avoids the glorification of war, while depicting ill-fated men, who can only dream of the comforts of home. Voice: Japanese. Subtitles: English, French, Spanish.

Roger Moore was introduced as James Bond in this 1973 action movie featuring secret agent 007. More self-consciously suave and formal, than predecessor Sean Connery, he immediately reestablished Bond as an uncomplicated fellow for the feel-good '70s. This film also marks a deviation from the more character-driven stories of the Connery years, a deliberate shift to multiple chases and bravura stunts. The story finds Bond taking on an international master criminal (Yaphet Kotto) who is subverting the U.S. economy via drugs. The funniest scenes are the flying lessons scene with Bond posing as a flight instructor, the speed boat chases and Sheriff Pepper as the frustrated sheriff who tries to catch all those speed boats. This was Moore's first appearance as 007. Title song by Paul McCartney and the Wings.

This film charts the rise and fall of illegal arms dealer Yuri Orlov from his early days in the 80s in Little Odessa (Brighton Beach in Brooklyn, NY) selling guns to mobsters in his local neighborhood through his ascension to the top in the early 90s, where he forms a business partnership with an African warlord and his psychotic son. His skills and quick wits bring him everything he's ever wanted - money, power, marriage to a famous model - and help him elude a persistent Interpol agent, while his inner demons sway between his drive for success and the immorality of what he does. But at the peak of his prowess he discovers, his customers demand more, than he can give and that those in government he's trying to protect could become deadly liabilities, leading to his brother's death and to the breakup of his marriage.
