The exceptionally fine cast - Susan Sarandon, Tommy Lee Jones and teen heartthrob Brad Renfro - goes a long way toward making "The Client" one of the more solidly enjoyable screen adaptations of John Grisham's legal thriller. Renfro is a natural, playing a 11-year-old kid, whose life is in jeopardy after he witnesses the death of a Mob lawyer and finds himself in hot water with both the Feds (led by Jones) and the Mob. Susan Sarandon is the attorney who decides to look after the boy. She won her fourth Oscar nomination as best actress for this role. Author Grisham was so impressed with director Joel Schumacher's work on this movie that he later also asked him to direct "A Time to Kill". Suspense is neatly woven with character development: really satisfying entertainment. Later a TV series.

Thirty unemployed auto-parts workers walk into their idle factory in Buenos Aires, roll out sleeping mats and refuse to leave. All they want is to re-start the silent machines. But this simple act has the power to turn the globalization debate on its head.
